Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
The Call of Duty franchise (known simply as COD to fans) has revolutionised video games and the first-person shooter with its thrilling gameplay, authentic weapons and an ultra-realistic portrayal of combat with Modern warfare 2 and 3 among the genre-defining instalments.
The online multiplayer feature of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will enthral fans as they battle through maps with friends and foes. Players will decide how the game progresses along branching story lines through the decisions that they make.
David S. Goyer (Co-writer, The Dark Knight Rises) and Trent Reznor (Composer, the Social Network) are part of a team that have created a compelling and gripping storyline that spans decades. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 takes place from the 1970s and for the first time, Call of Duty is set in the future, in a 21st century cold war between the United States and China. In 2025 the protagonist is David Mason, Alex's son and will feature future technology and weaponry.
Developed by Treyarch, published by Activison and available on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is the game of 2012.
Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 - Zombies: Who's ready to help repel the zombie infestation? Three modes - Transit, Survival and Grief, up to 8 players and full multiplayer-style stat tracking will test both your reflexes and the limits of your nerve.
All-new create-a-class: Create-a-class has been re-imagined, introducing players to a new "pick-10" allocation system, allowing an unprecedented number of combinations of create-a-class content. Players no longer have to take content from each category - instead, trade items from one category for extra items in another. Any combination of 10 items makes almost anything possible.
Pick 10 System: Ten points and nearly endless combinations: every piece of content is worth one point, and you can spend your 10 points in any way you like, encouraging a greater level of customization for individual play styles
Wildcards: Also a point each, Wildcards allow players to "extend the system" and configure classes in more unique ways - players can take multiple perks from one category, equip their primary with three attachments, carry two lethals, and more
All-new score streaks: Score Streaks reward players for helping their team win the game - capturing flags, defending your teammate with an assault shield, getting kills and assists are all examples of actions that help your team win and thus give you score.
Microwave Turret – A high-powered microwave turret used for crowd control that emits an intense directed energy wave, used to block navigation routes.
Swarm –Hunter Killer drones attack enemies and enemy equipment in a morale destroying swarm.
Interactivity: Commandeer a Hellstorm Missile and guide it to its path, or disperse a cluster of bombs and try to take out multiple enemies – the ultimate risk/reward scenario. Also, take control of a VTOL aircraft and rain steel from above.
Player or AI-Controlled: Take control or let it do the work for you – engage the AGR (Autonomous Ground Robot), a sentry drone which will fight autonomously on the player’s behalf, or can be user-controlled. Sentry Guns work the same way.
Player-Controlled: Harness the power of the MQ-27quad rotor drone, a remote-controlled quad rotor with a light machine gun that can surgically eliminate targets on the ground.
AI-Controlled: A range of weapons at your disposal here: call in a strafing run using the A10and listen as the AI pilot maintains constant radio contact, informing you of its progress; the Lightning Strike allows players to pinpoint three target areas and launch an aerial assault.
Uber-weapons: Once you’ve held the War Machine, you’ll never want to hold another grenade launcher again. The Death Machine makes its updated return in 2025, giving players their own, hand-held Gatling Gun that can shred anything in sight.
UPGRADED WEAPONS, ATTACHMENTS AND EQUIPMENT: Near-future warfare means upgrades in technology that soldiers will use in the field. Additionally, weapon perks are now built into the attachments:
Assault Shield – Create and move portable cover
Target Finder – Easy identification of friend or foe
Millimeter Wave Scanner – New optic that shows stationary (non-moving) targets at close range and through surfaces
Shock Charge – Non-lethal thrown device that electrocutes and stuns enemies that come near it
Laser Sight – Both visualized on the gun and seen by the weapon’s owner and other players – you immediately understand the capabilities of this perk and the player that’s got it.
eSports: A huge inspiration for the team and an exciting additional innovation to the multiplayer agenda, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 introduces League Play and an exciting new toolset of integrated shoutcasting capabilities, taking the competitive spirit of Call of Duty and elevating it to a spectator sport.
LEAGUE PLAY – Competition is fun at any level, which is why Treyarch has introduced Leagues, offering skill-based matchmaking and seasonal ladders. Play a small number of matches to get your skill rating, and from there, you’ll be placed into a division with players of similar skill. Keep winning and you’ll move up in rank – steady progress will move you up the ladder and into upper divisions. Skill-based matchmaking ensures that you are challenged but not out-gunned. League play is for everyone.
CODcast – creating a new class of specialized spectator, the CODcaster, who takes on the role of color commentator for any game, providing play-by-play coverage of the action on-screen. There are a variety of specific features built into the game’s CODcast menu to allow shoutcasting like never before:
Picture-in-Picture - This view shows a list of everyone in the game, their current score streak, and their status.
Map View – This view shows both sides of the battle from a top-down perspective in an easy-to-read 2d graphic.
Score Panel – Similar to what currently exists in professional sports, this view shows the big picture of overall team scores and objective information.
Name Plate – Similar to the name on a player’s jersey, easily identify the player being spotlighted.
Display Options – The commentator has the ability to turn on or off parts of the player HUD (this will not affect the players) to maximize the viewing experience.
Listen In – Drop in/out of player conversations and listen to the action as it happens.

IN DEVELOPMENT: LIVE STREAMING – And in addition, Activision is proud to announce ongoing development of an amazing new live game streaming feature that will help make competitive gaming not only fun to play, but also fun to watch. Once ready, Treyarch will enable a streaming toolset that allows players to stream their gameplay (and themselves) from inside the game itself. Requirements, rules, availability and launch timing of this new feature are yet to be announced.
More to Come:
Challenges – return with a twist.
Core & Party Game Modes – an evolution of Wager Match, a fun new way to play with friends.
Custom Games – deeper customization than ever, supporting both competitive and social gaming.
Combat Training – back and better than ever.
Theater Enhancements – returns with several new features.
Emblem Editor + Player Identity – will provide more creativity and artistry than before.
Prestige – integrated into the level progression system.
MULTIPLAYER MAPS: In the gameplay rotation:
Aftermath: Ruins of downtown Los Angeles after a drone attack.
Cargo: In the docks of Singapore, where cargo containers are constantly moving and changing the shape of cover in the map center.
Turbine: Set in a wind farm in the desert plains of Yemen, Turbine is a large, open map, with the ability to climb on everything.
Yemen: Urban street fight with tight alleyways and lots of changing elevation to the battle.
To further unite the Call of Duty community, Activision will be making all its Call of Duty Elite service features for Call of Duty: Black Ops II free when the upcoming blockbuster game hits worldwide on November 13, 2012. With Call of Duty Elite for Call of Duty: Black Ops II free, both new and veteran Call of Duty Elite members alike will be able to enjoy the full range of Call of Duty Elite’s robust service and features which will enhance and extend players’ multiplayer experience in the highly-anticipated new game in development by award-winning studio Treyarch.
In addition supporting Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Activision will be selling four epic DLC Map Packs both a la carte and through the introduction of the Call of Duty: Black Ops II DLC Season Pass. The four Call of Duty: Black Ops II DLC Map Packs will deliver a variety of new Multiplayer and Zombies playable content and are expected to be available in 2013. The Season Pass will represent great value for money and an ideal gift purchase for any Call of Duty fan.
The Storyline: As they had the chance to go back and enroll the game with the original black ops, it was done poorly i was looking for so much more rather than just exactly the same, what 12 levels a couple in a vehicle nothing impressed me it was just the same, same characters same plot same everything.
Multiplayer: Ok i played Black ops multiplayer mode for a long time i enjoyed it far too much but when i found my self coming across this multiplayer in the end nothing was different from the other 7 games, they have no idea on how to update a game, theyve used the same game engine for far too long now.
Zombies: Zombies is the only aspect of this game i enjoy anymore, purely because its got the only interesting thing going on. When coming across the new maps guess what? i found it the same as everything else, the level layouts are "cool" and now, maybe even expansive but yet again theres nothing new to the table, same guns etc.
My overall opinion is that Activison need to start investing more and paying more attention, the game has no real assests like they may have improved it a little graphically but no, they need to fix alot of there animations, they NEED to change there online gameplay. i most likely wont be buying the next call of duty series due to the fact that they have no idea how to develop game engines(you can see this by looking at ac3 to continue they needed to build a new game engine anvil 2 or 2.5?).
hours and hours of gameplay
interesting campaign aspects
Exactly the same as every other Call of Duty game
No maturity in the game
