Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata, has said that the Wii U is likely to be priced at higher price than $250, the price point of its predecessor.
Bloomberg have translated an interview, in which Iwata talks to Nikkei about the system’s price. In the interview, Iwata said that the console is likely to be priced higher than ¥20,000 which translates into £150 and $250.
When it launched in 2006, Nintendo’s Wii cost £180 in the UK and $250 in America, so it may be disappointing for some to see the new console at a higher price, but it’s not surprising with the new technology that’s crammed in there.
