Shun Moriyama of Grezzo, developers of the reworked Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time, has said that the bugs in the N64 original of the game were so fun, they did their best to keep them in the latest version.
“As programmers, we wanted to get rid of bugs,” he said. “But the staff members who had played the old game said the bugs were fun.”
“It wouldn’t be fun if your friends couldn’t say, ‘Do you know about this?’ So we left them in if they didn’t cause any trouble and were beneficial.”
Obviously there are no game breaking bugs in there, with Moriyama stating that “If something simply could not be allowed to stand, we begrudgingly fixed it, so some bugs don’t appear, But we left in as many as we could, so people will grin over that.”
Nice to see a bit of authenticity in there, don’t you think?
