Catherine set for European release [update]

Update 2: A press release has been received confirming Catherine for Europe. under the deal, Deep Silver (a company of Koch Media), has gained publishing rights for Catherine in Europe.

“We are very proud to be able to publish Catherine in all PAL territories as a Deep Silver game”, says Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Deep Silver. “Catherine is something new, fresh and exciting; unlike anything else in the gaming world – a unique mixture of genres. This agreement proves once again that games published under the Deep Silver label are not ‘more of the same’, ‘run of the mill’ productions.”

“ATLUS is very pleased to collaborate with an experienced, passionate publisher like Deep Silver for the release of Catherine in Europe,” stated Shinichi Suzuki, President and CEO of ATLUS/Index Digital Media, Inc..  “Like us, they are dedicated to releasing interesting, unique entertainment content for their fans.  They share our belief that Catherine’s unprecedented exploration of the psychology and horrors of commitment and relationships, its breathtaking visual design, and its frantic action-adventure/puzzle gameplay make for a thought-provoking, entertaining experience that cannot be missed.”

Catherine from Atlus and Deep Silver will be released in PAL territories for multiplatform consoles and will feature localised text in French, Italian, German and Spanish.

No date yet.

Update: It’s just been discovered that Koch Media known for titles such as Dead Island, will be the studio publishing Catherine in Europe.

The German ratings board has listed Catherine and given it a 16 rating. Details on the publisher were also revealed by the listing.

Original: Atlus may be about to release its horror/adventure title Catherine in Europe.

Siliconera spotted a very sneaky tweet from the publisher last night which said: “Catherine is getting her passport in order… #whatcouldthismean”

Atlus has been looking for a partner to enable it to publish the game in Europe, so maybe someone has snapped it up.

We have already pre-ordered a copy from the US to enable us to bring you a review, so keep an eye on the site in the near future for that and other news.
