You know that you may be on to something when pre-orders your latest game, in this case Battlefield 3, are ten times higher than those of Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
That’s what’s happening though according to EA’s latest Q1 earnings report. The company also revealed that in it’s lifetime to date Battlefield Bad Company 2 has sold 9 million copies, which makes things sound good for the sequel.
Elsewhere in its financial report, EA announced that MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic had broken its all time pre-order record.
Meanwhile a few other figures were revealed, such as sales for Portal 2, Dead Space 2 and Dragon Age 2, which have all passed 2 million units to date, and finally Crysis 2, which has now passed 3 million units.
All of this combined with other retail and digital sales gives EA a non-GAAP net revenue of $524 million for the quarter, not too shabby.
