PS Vita’s social networking-esque feature Activity may be heading to the PlayStation 3, according to a report made by Eurogamer.
If you don’t know what Activity is, then think of it as Facebook for games. It gives you a constantly updating rundown on what your friends have accomplished by providing up-to-date information on their latest trophies and gaming achievements. If you see something that catches your eye, you can post a comment or repost it for your own friends to see.
When questioned on the feature’s possible arrival on PS3, Phil Rogers, manager of Sony Europe’s R&D efforts, said that Sony were thinking about it, but there’s a few obstacles they have to overcome before they can make it happen.
“Possibly, but if you think of the XMB interface: how do you represent that there?”
“But we’re thinking about it and it’s a feature that a lot of developers and publishers asked for it.”
The PS Vita is due to release during Q4 2011 or Q1 2012, in different regions, but there’s no solid release date as of yet.
