Warner Bros. has announced that they’re teaming up with Grasshopper Manufacture to bring the developer’s latest title, Lollipop Chainsaw, to western territories next year.
Being developed by Suda 51′s Grasshopper Manufacture, the project will be lead by the legend himself , with Akira Yamoaka of Silent Hill fame working alongside him to compose the game’s musical score and, as if that’s not enough talent already, American writer and director James Gunn will bring his unique sense of humour to the table, by penning the game’s story.
While Warner Bros. are bringing the game to the west, Kadokawa Games will be publishing the title in Japan.
“Our exciting partnership with Kadokawa Games allows us to try something new by bringing a very unique game like Lollipop Chainsaw to Western markets,” said Martin Tremblay, President of WBIE.
Lollipop Chainsaw looks set to provide nothing short of the weird and extremely unique experience you’d expect from a Grasshopper Manufacture developed game as the title puts players in the shoes of cheerleader and zombie hunter, Juliet Starling, as she battles her way through hordes of the undead.
The title will be Grasshopper’s first big release since this year’s critically acclaimed Shadows of the Damned and is expected to launch on Xbox 360 and PS3, next year.
