CD Projekt has announced that the Xbox 360 version of The Witcher 2 has been delayed into 2012.
The console version of the critically acclaimed RPG will now release in Q1 2012, after it was originally due to release by the end of the year.
According to a VG247 source, the delay is partly down to an ongoing legal battle between the firm and Namco, who reportedly sued the developer for granting THQ publishing rights to the Xbox 360 version of the game. No matter what the reason for the delay is, CD Projekt are using the time to ‘polish the title to perfection’.
CD Pojekt’s Adam Kicinski had the following to say:
“The extra time will allow us to polish the title to perfection, so that the game offers an ideally balanced, fantastic experience to gamers. As the launch of the game approaches, we will be sharing more details how it will be released on Xbox 360. I trust that despite the release date shift, players will be satisfied with what we are planning for them,”
