Update: It has now been revealed that Treyarch, the minds behind Black Ops, will be developing the Wii version of Modern Warfare 3.
When it comes to Nintendo’s home console, Treyarch seem to have a hefty amount of experience behind them. They’ve previously developed Wii versions of their own Call of Duty titles, as well as a Wii version of Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare.
Original: Modern Wiifare. Modern Warfare Thrii. Choose a pun, I don’t mind which.
During Activision’s investor call last night, the publisher confirmed that Infinity Ward’s latest Call of Duty title Modern Warfare 3 will be getting a Wii release, when it launches later this year.
This may be the first official confirmation we’ve had, but it isn’t the first we’ve heard of a Wii release. A Nintendo Wii game case was even spotted rocking the title’s cover art at E3.
However, the publisher didn’t say whether or not Infinity Ward would be directly responsible for the Wii version of the game. All we know is that it’s coming.
Modern Warfare 3 is due out this November for PC, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360. You can pre-order a copy here (PC), here (PS3) or here (360).
