Crytek announced today that a multiplayer demo will be arriving on 25th January (thats the good news) and will be exclusive for Xbox 360 gold members (and that’s the bad news!). The demo will let players experience war as a nanosuit soldier in war-torn Manhattan where two teams of enemies fight to the death using the nanosuits powers that make the wearer faster, stronger and invisible. Multiplayer maps feature the map “Skyline” and two game modes called: Crash Site in which player’s battle to control and keep alien drop pods, and Team Instant Action that sees two teams battling to kill as many opponents as possible to progress to higher ranks.
In the official Press Release Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli said “Crysis 2 offers a fresh, new take on multiplayer — one that will stand out and establish the game as a top contender in the first person shooter genre,” and ”The Nanosuit gives gamers a sense of power they have yet to experience in any other shooter and having New York City as a backdrop will present a different type of playground with even more possibilities.”
The retail version of Crysis 2 will include six game modes and 12 maps set in New York City. Throughout the campaign, players can progress through 50 multiplayer ranks and unlock different weapon and nanosuit upgrades.
Crysis 2 is available to pre-order now and is due for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on 25th March.
