It seems that the increasingly popular online pass scheme will be used in the upcoming game, RAGE. The online pass will block access to selected in-game content for second hand users.
“We have the first-time buyer stuff with all the sewers,” id creative director Tim Willits told Eurogamer.
“If you bought the game new, that would be open for you. You still have to download it, but you don’t have to pay for it. Those [sewer] hatches are all over. Most people never find them. But as soon as you do, you’re like, oh. And then you start to look for it. That’s our first-time buyer incentive.”
Continuing Willits said that the depth of the game will mean that some players won’t even play the missing content even if they have it.
You can preorder RAGE from ShopTo on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
