Mojang has today released Minecraft Pocket Edition, an Android version of Minecraft, which is currently limited to Sony’s Xperia Play device. Other Android devices will be getting the game in the near future, with other mobile platforms remaining nothing but a possibility for now.
The first version of the game, Alpha 0.1, will set you back $6.99 and will focus on the “creative aspects” of Minecraft. Players can choose from 36 different kinds of blocks, before building anything they wish in a randomized world. Much like the early builds of the PC version.
The title will also support wifi multiplayer, allowing users to invite friends to their world, before working together to build (or demolish) something awesome.
