New version of Wii announced but sneakily

UPDATED: According to Eurogamer the new version of the Wii console will be the only version of the console as Nintendo are planning to axe the old version.

Nintendo have outlined their release schedule for the rest of the year, which by and large doesn’t hold many secrets. We have Super Mario Land 3D in November and Mario Kart 7  in December. In addition, Super Pokémon Rumble battles onto the 3DS in December and finally Zelda: Twilight Princess is gets a re-release for the Wii.

But beady eyes at TSA have spotted something hidden in all the of big name titles, is a little titbit that may interest some.

Those looking for the perfect present for all the family this Christmas can look no further than the new value Wii bundle. It not only offers great value to European fans, but introduces a streamlined Wii console with a slightly altered configuration**, which is designed to sit horizontally, rather than vertically. The bundle includes the newly configured Wii console in white, a Wii Remote Plus controller, Nunchuk™, and copies of Wii Sports™ and Wii Party™.

It seems that Sony aren’t the only one launching a new version of a console this year, the new configuration seems to be predominately  the lack of GameCube support for the console.

Gamescom this year seems to be the year of ripping out chunks of consoles for a cheaper market. Below is a picture of the console thanks to Official Nintendo Magazine.
