Details have come in about the console and PC versions of Battlefield 3 and how they differ. The main difference seems to be that the PC version will not feature a traditional main menu but instead use the Battlelog screen to launch the game.
In addition, it seems that the PC version of the game will lack some features that will come as natural to the console version. The stand out feature missing from the PC version will be a in-game browser for searching servers, something that has been in most multiplayer games on PC for years. However, this is due to the lack of main menu within the PC version therefore the Battlelog will serve as a browser point for PC player, but this comes at a price. You will be able to jump pretty much from game boot to a multiplayer game without a intro or splash screen to have to deal with. The problem comes in if the initial match that you come into doesn’t suit you, you will need to quit out aand search for a new one instead of being able to pick from the start.
The console version will act in the same way other titles do with Battlelog acting as an in-game add-on instead of the main menu.
