Update: Thanks to one of our readers we have discovered that the Xbox 360 already has the feature to support 3D, its just hidden until you attach a 3DTV.
We tried it our for ourselves and it was indeed there, just visiting System Settings > Console Settings > Display and there it is, though like we say you will need a 3DTV to be able to see it.
Original: The Xbox 360 will finally join the World of Stereoscopic 3D in just a few days time after it was revealed that a new update is on the way.
According to msxbox-world, the update will arrive ahead of the release of Gears of War 3, Batman: Arkham City and Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary, all of which support the technology.
To prove that the update is on the way, the site is carrying a screen which shows the option to ‘Enable 3D to use stereoscopic 3D in games and experiences that support it,’ which in a way sounds like it will be supporting more than just games.
We have contacted Microsoft for their response on this subject.
