Sony has rebranded its PlayStation download services, including PSN, as the ‘Sony Entertainment Network.’
This means that services such as Qriocity will be moved under the new umbrella, although it will now be renamed Music Unlimited, while the PlayStation 3′s Video On Demand channel will be renamed Video Unlimited.
PSN will not be rebranded, however it does now come under the Sony Entertainment Network service.
“We’re leveraging the biggest asset, the Sony brand, to establish a comprehensive, global platform called Sony Entertainment Network,” stated Hirai at the IFA trade show.
According to Hirai, “the whole of Sony is greater than the sum of its parts,” which was backed up by the fact that Sony plans to bring these services to as many of its devices as possible, as well as opening up the service to Third parties.
