Battlefield 3 pre-orders are currently standing at a couple of million, according to product manager Kevin O’Leary.
Speaking in an interview with Fox Business (via IGN), O’Leary said of pre-orders ” [there are a] Couple of million out there.
“We’ve already announced we’ve done great numbers so far and with a couple more weeks to go. We’re very excited.”
It seems that Modern Warfare 3 is well ahead in the pre-order stakes, however O’Leary went on to call EA’s outlook more of a long-term strategy.
“We’re looking at it as a long-term strategy. Obviously Battlefield 3 is a great brand new proposition out there.
“The franchise is poised to succeed and we had great success with our previous title, Battlefield: Bad Company 2. And we’re really excited to bring Battlefield 3 out and convert a lot of people over to this warfare experience.”
Whatever game you are interested in buying it’s certainly going to be interesting watching gaming’s two biggest publishers battling it out for sales.
Battlefield 3 is out in a few weeks time and you can pre-order your copy here (PC), here (360) and here (PS3).
