Some Vita launch titles require external memory card

If you are considering purchasing a PlayStation Vita, then you may be interested to know that quite a few of the launch titles will require you to buy a memory card in order to save your game.

While developers can either use the game card’s internal save space or external an memory card, at least seven of the Japanese launch titles, including Uncharted, are making use of the external memory instead.

According to a report on Kotaku Japan (via Andriasang), the following games can save to the internal memory, while those below require external memory.

  • F1 2011
  • Dynasty Warriors Next
  • Shin Kamaitachi no Yoru
  • Dark Quest Alliance
  • Army Corps of Hell
  • Shinobido 2
  • Power Smash 4
  • Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend
  • Michael Jackson
  • Mahjong Fight Club
  • Let’s Try Bass Fishing Fish on Next
  • Lord of Apocalypse

External Memory

  • @field
  • Uncharted
  • Dream Club Zero
  • Disgaea 3 Return
  • Hot Shots Golf 6
  • Monster Raider
  • Ridge Racer

Katamari Damacy’s save status is currently TBA.

Obviously if you decided to download all of your titles then you will be required to own an external memory card.
