Doctors in the House…

Doctor Who Wii

No, just Wii & DS is fine thank you!

Nan-na-na-na, nan-na-na-na… ooh woo ooh, ooh woo-ooh, ooh woo ooh ooh woo-ooh…

The last of the timelords is coming to Nintendo this Christmas in a bigger-on-the-inside way that will have all us secret and not so secret who-ites drooling into our jelly babies.

First off, in a moment of crazy wish fulfilment, Blue Ocean will be releasing a sonic screw driver version of the Wii remote. This will be compatible with all your favourite Wii games (only with extra Gallifreyan goodness) and will have a built-in rechargeable battery. All you need is a Doctor Who related game to play it with…

… which is on its way too! Doctor Who: Return To Earth will be released at the beginning of November and feature all the Doctor’s favourite foes including the Cybermen and the new iDaleks. Grab the chance to be the oncoming storm – you’ll have to provide your own bow tie though!

Other features include:

  • Authentic Doctor Who story written by Doctor Who author Oli Smith
  • Opportunity to explore an incredible star ship in this action adventure as it returns to Earth playing as either the Doctor or Amy Pond.
  • Interact with and manipulate the environment.
  • Aim and fire sonic beams with the Wii Remote at coloured targets dotted around the levels that move platforms, turn on and off hazards, open doors and more.
  • Sneak past Daleks and Cybermen.
  • Use the Wii Remote as the Sonic Screwdriver to progress through the game.
  • Fully recorded dialogue by Matt Smith and Karen Gillan throughout cut scenes.
If that wasn’t enough, the DS will also be getting its own taste of Who action in Evacuation Earth. This excursion has a more cartoony feel, but will nonetheless be all Who! Other features include:
  • Authentic Doctor Who story written by Doctor Who author Oli Smith
  • Opportunity to guide the Doctor and Amy Pond through a colourful puzzle adventure
  • Beautifully drawn characters to interact with and over 60 varied, colourful locations to explore
  • Over 100 puzzles including 3 types of mini-games
  • Features items to collect, use and combine to progress the story
  • Fully recorded dialogue by Matt Smith and Karen Gillan throughout cut scenes

I know, you’ll probably be wanting to speed up time to get hold of those goodies, but they haven’t released a Nintendo Tardis… yet.
