A new report seems to suggest that Brink developer, Splash Damage, is working on a new Marvel game for Disney Interactive.
According to IndustryGamers, the studios is working on “one of the biggest American pop culture brands of the last 50 years.”
“The company has managed to sign at least one unannounced project for a major entertainment brand,” the IndustryGamers report says.
“The online multiplayer technology is already in place, and once a collection of well-known characters are laid over the top of an even more polished Brink engine there’s going to be a lot of excitement from genre fans.
“The game will be based on one of the biggest American pop culture brands of the last 50 years….”
The report also suggests that the “media company” that owns this IP was “widely believed to have given up on the console publishing business”.
Disney has been moving away from the console business, so the words above do seem to suggest it could be this “media company” which the report is referring to, while the other words certainly sound like we could be set for a new Marvel game based on the Brink engine, given that Disney now owns this IP.
Hopefully we will find out more soon.
