It appears the Black Friday sales were just what Nintendo needed, where they seen their Wii console, and 3DS portable device both sell in the masses.
The Nintendo Wii reportedly sold a whopping 520,000 units across continental America; bringing their total sales to around 37.7 million units. These sales from Black Friday come in at a 245% increase compared to last months sales.
The 3DS needed a massive boost, as it’s no secret it’s being falling way short of Nintendo’s projections. Thankfully it received a 215% boost over last months sales, bringing their total sales to nearly 2.5 million. What’s interesting about this figure, is that it’s now surpassed the total first year sales that their original DS system achieved when it was released (2.37 mullion).
On the software end of things, recently released “The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Swords” was the biggest first-day release in Wii history, where it eventually sold 600,000 units on the first week alone.
It appears Nintendo have finally gotten the ball rolling with their 3DS system, lets just hope that the great sale continue on after this festive month!
