Today, Cyanide Studios have released the first trailer for their upcoming RPG: Game of Thrones. It was announced earlier this month that you would be playing as a Red Priest and/or a member of the Nightswatch, and now we have a trailer called “The Wall” to show what the Nights Watch is about.
The trailer is narrated by the Lord Commander, Jeor Mormont of the Night’s Watch – who is voiced by none other than James Cosmo from the TV series of Game of Thrones. The trailer showcases the harsh life that the Nights Watch live, where they guard a massive wall of ice that splits the Seven Kingdoms from the terrors that wait beyond in the wild. It also puts emphasis on the oath that each member of the Nights Watch take; where they must swear loyalty to their duty of guarding the wall for life – An oath that if forsworn, is punishable by death.
To go along with the trailer, they’ve officially launched their North American Website , where you can be guided through some of the games key points, such as the events that will set your journey in play, and who you will be playing as. Along with that, we’re also treated to the bonus of playing mini-games in order to unlock some pretty cool web-exclusive content!
It appears the game is very focused on retaining the rich plot that HBO pulled from A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin, that gained A Game of Thrones a mass of hype this year. The video game is set for an early 2012 release, so expect to see more details soon!
For now, here’s the trailers:
