It would seem that the spate of hackings that hit the gaming world over the last couple of months hasn’t finished with fresh news that the server for MMO, RIFT has been attacked.A notice to players states: “The database in question contained information including user names, encrypted passwords, dates of birth, email addresses, billing addresses, and the first and last four digits and expiration dates of customer credit cards. If you have used your username and password for other accounts, especially financial accounts or accounts with personal information, we suggest you change your passwords on those accounts as well.”
The notice continues stating that Trion Worlds does not believe that full credit card numbers have been breached. However, the next time any user logs onto the game they will be required to change their password. Concluding that the company suggests that users review their statements and card activity to ensure their safety.
