London 2012 The Game to be launched

SEGA’s today confirmed that it’ll release its new game, London 2012 sometime this June.

The game, which is based on the upcoming London Olympics, will feature 30 Olympic events including new sporting events such as Keirin (Cycling) at the Velodrome, 10m Synchronised Platform (Diving) at the Aquatics Centre and Trampoline.

SEGA’s also confirmed that the game will come with some special events for the Kinect and Move such as 110m Hurdles, Beach Volleyball (Kinect only) and 25m Rapid Fire Pistol (Move only). Online as well as offline multiplayer will also be included.

Gary Knight, Senior Vice President of marketing for SEGA, has shared his thoughts on the upcoming Olympic title.

“We are proud to offer the Great British public the chance to actually experience the excitement and pride of taking part in London 2012. With all new Olympic events and returning favourite sports brought to life with the very latest video gaming technology, everyone will be able to participate in the Olympic Games from their own home.”

So if you don’t really fancy braving the immense hordes of fans fighting their way through Stratford in order to get a piece of the Olympics then stay at home and get your London 2012 on.
