Speaking in a new interview with OPM, Wipeout 2048’s lead designer Karl Jones has revealed that the game will continue to expand in the future.
When asked about a previous quote in which Jones said 2048 was not a one-shot approach, Jones explained, “I guess it’s going to be patches and stuff. DLC always comes across as paid for content. We’re not obviously not going to just do paid for stuff, we’re going to do free stuff too. That’s largely going to be things we didn’t get time to do. For example, the AR museum.
Jones also went onto say that the studio is “looking into other things to enhance the toolset of the game,” explaining that it’s looking into custom controls and potentially some kind of multiplayer extension. He also says that the studio hopes to expand on the game’s Cross Play with PS3, although couldn’t go into detail about this.
Finally, Jones went onto mention that new features are going to be added, which will include new ways to play. Add this to the paid DLC which will arrive later down the line and it sounds like Wipeout 2048 is going to have a pretty bright future.
