Crytek’s Sean Tracy seems to have let slip something that perhaps he shouldn’t have.
As is the way these days, Tracy was innocently tweeting how he was “Enjoying the Durango developers summit in London,” before the internet took a second look and put him in hot water.
“So far, great swag and interesting talks,” he said, before deleting his existence from Twitter, never to be seen in the land of 140 words again.
But why such harsh measures? Well Durango, as we have reported in the past, is the rumoured name for Microsoft’s Next Xbox, and obviously if it’s just a rumour, then having a conference for it seems a bit silly.
Naughty Mr Tracy, very naughty indeed.
In other rumour nextbox news, a new countdown has appeared on the Lionhead site, which seems to run out around the start of GDC 2012. Could we be about to see one of the first projects for the Nextbox or could we also be about to hear the first reveal of the nextbox itself?
We are still not sure, Xbox 360 is selling very well indeed, so would it really benefit Microsoft to let the cat out the bag now? We’re still betting on an E3 reveal. But you never know, and anyway, speculation is fun.
