The latest sales figures for the month of February have arrive from NPD, showing Xbox 360 continuing to dominate hardware sales in the US.
Towards the end of last month, Sony launched the PS Vita, although this didn’t stop Microsoft’s machine from selling an estimated 426,000 units. To be fair, Sony also made a splash, selling an estimated 360,000 units, while the PS Vita came in at around 225,000 which isn’t a bad start.
NPD analyst Anita Frazier noted how well PS Vita affected hardware sales for the month, which overall were up year on year.
“Overall, hardware unit sales increased by 62 percent over January without the Vita included. Including PS Vita sales, that increase is 87 percent,” she said.
On the software side, no Vita title made the top 10, although Twisted Metal for PS3 did make an appearance at number nine.
