Former Sony and Atari executive Phil Harrison is to join Microsoft as head of its European Games Studios following the departure of Peter Molyneux.
According to a new report on GamesIndustry, his new role will be announced at 16.00pm today. This comes are Peter Moyneux leaves the role to head up his new independent studio, 22 Cans.
Harrison’s previous role include a spell at Sony as boss of Worldwide Studios, where he commissioned LittleBigPlanet after working closely with Media Molecule. His last role saw him as a partner at London Venture Partners.
This is huge news for Microsoft’s 1st Party Studios, we certainly expect Harrison to make his mark.
