In what is pretty huge news as far as EA titles are concerned, the upcoming FIFA Euro 2012 title is actually download only and an expansion to FIFA 12.
According to MCV, EA Sports UEFA Euro 2012, the download includes all 53 UEFA member national teams and the eight official stadiums of the tournament. In addition, it’ll also include an Expedition Mode, which allows for the building and management of a custom national squad.
FIFA Virtual Pro mode will also make a return, along with Challenges and Online Multiplayer.
This game is always a massive seller at retail, so while it’s a blow for retailers, it’s great for consumers, meaning that they no longer have to pay out for a spin off title that is generally reduced a month or so after the tournament. With FIFA 12 still selling strong, this is likely to go down well, at least if EA gets the pricing correct.
UEFA Euro 2012 will release on April 24th/25th on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC and will cost £15.99, €19.99 or 1800MSP.
