Comet owner OpCapita has reportedly bought GAME.
According to a report on the BBC, OpCapita has secured the bulk of GAME’s UK business, which amounts to 333 shops. An announcement is said to be be made tomorrow.
Apparently, the firm bought GAME for £1, bringing the retailer out of administration, although it has taken on the group’s £85 million debt.
According to the BBC, the deal will keep open GAME’s 333 UK stores and save 3100 jobs, although no deal has been made for the international stores.
This is obviously great news for the staff unaffected by the recent store closures, although the news comes a little late for some.
We’ll update you when we know more.
