Nintendo will not appear at Gamescom in any form this year, despite the Wii U being released in the latter half of 2012.
Gamescom is the biggest consumer show in Europe, however it seems Nintendo has instead chosen to focus on sampling events around Germany with Wii, 3DS and Wii U.
“Whilst Gamescom is a fantastic show, we have taken the decision not to attend this year’s event,” said Nintendo in a statement to VG247.
“We are planning a number of sampling events throughout Germany in which our fans will have the opportunity to play upcoming Nintendo 3DS, Wii and Wii U titles.
“Further details will be announced soon.”
