Satoru Iwata has announced that a new firmware update will adds folders to the 3DS home screen.
Each folder can hold 60 apps, and can be renamed, meaning that your home screen will be a lot less cluttered, are you listening Sony (Vita certainly needs this)?
The update will also allow game’s to now receive patches, meaning that titles can be improved and bugs fixed. The first games to be patched will be Mario Kart 7, New Love Plus and Kingdom Hearts 3D, although it’s important to note that patches must be downloaded via the e-Shop.
We’ve already mentioned that New Super Mario Bros 2 will be released this August on 3DS. However we can also confirm that a new Animal Crossing will be released for 3DS in the Winter, whilst 3DS owners will get two new Pokemon Applications; Pokemon AR Searcher (¥1,500), a AR shooting game and Pokemon Zenkoku Zukan Pro (¥300) which is a free update to the Pokemon management tool already available on 3DS.
It seems like the 3DS continues to grow from strength to strength, what will Sony do to counter its popularity, especially in Japan?
