Ken Levine has told Wired that the team at Irrational Games are focusing all their energy on BioShock Infinite, meaning that other titles, such as the PS Vita version of Bioshock, are for the moment at least, on the backburner.
“These games really are all-consuming endeavours. You do want to keep the ball rolling but it is tough to give it your full attention before you finish what you have. But we’re getting there with Infinite.”
Levine did go on to praise Sony though, suggesting that the company has been doing all it can to accommodate Levine and his team, although he also added that he felt a little uncomfortable talking about the Vita title before the team had even started work on it.
“I don’t like to go out and just talk. I want to show you something first and then talk about it because it is tough to speak abstractly about things. I don’t want to convince you, I’d much rather have the work convince you,” he said.
“When I’m not ready to hype it, I just don’t talk much about it and that’s why when people ask me about the Vita game, I just say I’m not ready to talk about it because I don’t have anything to show yet.”
By the sounds of things, there is no doubt that once Infinite gets here, Irrational will then focus all of its energy on the PS Vita title and that can only be a good thing for both Sony and the Vita.
