Microsoft has been granted a patent for a Xbox 360 controller which can spot whose using it based on it recognising hand-pressure.
The picture shows what look like a standard Xbox 360 controller, however given that it features sensors to detect a user’s identity based on each gamer’s unique hand pressure patterns, it’s much more than that. Apparently the controller can determine who is holding the device at any given moment and deliver personalized content based on that user’s gaming profile.
The patent was applied for in 2009 but has only just been granted.
Will Microsoft make use of this interesting tech?
