Some new details for Keiji Inafune’s PS Vita title, Soul Sacrifice, have appeared on the internet, along with a few screens from Japanese magazine, Famitsu.
As mentioned earlier, the main twist in the game is that you’ll sacrifice body parts to perform powerful magic.
A list has appeared showing the type of sacrifices you can expect to see, here they are:
- Excalibur: You stick your hand down your throat, pull out your spinal cord, and use this as your sword.
- Gleipnir: Chop off your five fingers and perform a punch with your extended bones.
- Gorgon: Pull out your eyeballs, and use them to blast out magic beams
- Gungnir: Your bones and nerves emerge from your body and attack
In addition, it seems that the story will centre around a slave who serves a cruel sorcerer, Apparently, the game, which is being developed by Marvelous Entertainment, is set within the stories of a demon book.
The main character is a man is about to be offered as a sacrifice, when a book appears before him. The book contains a record of the sorcerer and monster fights of the past and allows him entry to fight out the story as it happens.
Inside the book, he’ll take on monsters who were once human, but have lost their form due to their overuse of magic. The player, too, can lose his human form if magic is abused.
Famitsu lists Soul Sacrifice as 50% complete, with release due this Winter.
