Nomura: Final Fantasy VII remake not a priority

Gamers all over the internet have been crying out for a Final Fantasy VII remake for years, it seems though that Tetsuya Nomura, long-time character designer and director of numerous Final Fantasy titles, thinks it’s not really not much of a priority.

Speaking in the latest issue of Famitsu (via Andriasang) Nomura acknowledged fans demand for a remake of the all time classic game, however it seems like the Japanese developer would rather create new experiences rather than just rehash old ones.

Nomura also went on to provide some trivia, revealing that Yuffie Kisaragi, the secret female ninja thief character, was originally a planned to be a wanted felon in the story. Apparently, In Midgar, you’d see wanted posters showing her face. Each poster would have a different face, and the Yufie that joined your party would have the face of the last poster that you saw.

Would you like to see a Final Fantasy VII remake, or would you rather Square concentrated on getting new and innovative titles out the door?
