It’s been revealed today that Pokémon: Black & White has sold an astonishing 3 million copies.
The popular title, which will now spawn a new animated TV series and a card game, managed to shift 3 million copies within two weeks on sale in the US and Europe; 1m copies were sold in Europe alone by Mid-March.
“The global buzz created by Pokémon’s record-breaking video games, Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version, and brand new animation inspired by the new Unova region is truly remarkable,” said J.C. Smith, Director of Consumer Marketing for The Pokémon Company International. “There’s more excitement to come and we look forward to working with existing and new partners to provide superior entertainment to our millions of fans around the world.”
With success like this there is no doubt that we will see a lot more Pokemon games and other entertainment related spin-off’s in the future.
