Apple CEO Tim Cook has said that he is not interested in being in the console business, although that’s not to say that gaming won’t play a big part in the companies future.
Speaking during the D10 conference Cook told an AllThingsD reporter, “gaming has kind of evolved a bit. More people play on portable devices. Where we might go in the future, we’ll see. Customers love games.”
Cook then went on to mention that consoles aren’t the future for Apple, but did add, “Apple is a big player [in gaming] today and things in the future will only make that bigger.”
In a follow-up, Cook was asked if the company was interested in bringing gaming experiences to televisions, responding: “It could be interesting.”
Could we see Apple enter ‘traditional gaming’ in a way other than console?
