Gaikai looks to be the cloud gaming company which Sony is getting set to acquire.
It was revealed yesterday that Sony was set to snap up one of the big cloud gaming companies, however it is now looking more likely that the company in question will be Gaikai, since the company has been sending out invitations to journalists for what it is calling ‘a game-changing announcement.’
“Gaikai has some major announcements in store for E3 that have the potential to change the future of video games, game consoles and how we play,” it reads.
If Sony has indeed snapped up Gaikai, we expect to start seeing the service in devices such as Sony TV’s, mobile phones, gaming consoles and other consumer electronics. This would also fit in well with Sony’s strategy of extending the PlayStation Network to other devices.
