Haydn Dalton, lead designer on Darksiders II has told VideoGamer in a new interview that it’s unlikely THQ would have Vigil shift development to another franchise – if the upcoming Darksiders II is a success.
If Darksiders II sells “4 or 5 million units,” he said, then THQ president Jason Rubin will more than likely want to do sequel, although he added that the boss may want to “reduce the scope so that we can make it even higher polished.” Doing so would give the game more focus, said Dalton.
Darksiders II launches August 14 in the US and later the same week in the UK and Europe. Can it reach 4 million units? Well, if we have anything to do with it, then it’ll reach 10 million. Buy it, it’s awesome, even if only to shut us up about how much we want Darksiders III.
Don’t forget, you can read our preview of Darksiders II, which went live recently, here. Also read our interview with Haydn Dalton here.
Finally, you can read everything we have on the game in our Darksiders II hub here.
Oh and most importantly, you can pre-order here (do it cause we want a Darksiders III).
