Sega Sammy returns to profit, games business still suffering

Sega Sammy has returned to profit and reported £20m earnings for the three months ending June 30, although the game’s business is still reporting a loss.

The company suffered a £13 million loss in the same period last year, so this is a significant improvement, although it’s not all good news, since SEGA, the game arm of the company still suffered a £13 million loss for the quarter.

On the bright side the software giant suffered a £31 million loss for the same quarter last year, so again, this is a big improvement.

SEGA is continuing to restructure its software business as it looks to focus more on digital products and move away from packaged goods.
