Sony’s financial quarter one of 2013 are in, showing rather depressing reading, for the electronics giant.
Overall the company reported a loss of $312 million, with slow hardware sales, being one of the reasons for the less than ideal figure.
Sales of the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2 are now combined, showing 2.8 million units sold in total, while PS Vita and PSP managed to rack up 1.4 million units sold between them.
Software sales for PS2/PS3 were 20.1 million, while 5.8 million PSP and PS Vita software titles were sold – that’s not including digital sales, but retail sales only.
All of this means that revenue for the Games division reached 118 billion Yen, down 14.5% from the same time period last year.
Sales of the Vita and PSP from this financial year was estimated at 16 million, however this has now been dropped to 12 million.
Poor show eh?
