Nintendo has announced via Twitter that a new Nintendo Direct live stream event will take place on August 29th.
The live stream is generally only available for Japan, however we do at least learn of new information from the event such as new games, etc.
Given the timing of the event, you'd think that perhaps Japan will finally be getting a release date and price for the Wii U, although it seems that this event will in fact be dedicated instead to 3DS and Wii.
It's still possible that Wii U release information will be saved for Tokyo Game Show, which takes place in September. It was rumoured last night that Nintendo will release the Wii U on November 18 in the US, which suggests an early November/October release for Japan. If this is the case, then the sooner Nintendo announces the release date for Japan, the better.
As for Europe? Well it looks like we'll have to wait, with a December release seeming the most likely.
