Sniper Elite V2 console versions gets multiplayer via DLC

505 Games and Rebellion have announced that Sniper Elite V2 on the PS3 and Xbox 360 will gain four multiplayer modes through DLC available later in the year.

The console versions of Sniper Elite V2 , which shipped earlier in the year, was release sans multiplayer modes which caused a some backlash.

Milton Keynes, UK "Following on from its phenomenal chart success across Europe, 505 Games and Rebellion are set to bring full multiplayer support to console versions of hit World War II action game, Sniper Elite V2.

"Rebellion is very excited to release this multiplayer support for console" said Jason Kingsley, CEO of Rebellion: "We have always believed in supporting and building our games communities as best we can. This is in part to say thank you to dedicated gamers for buying our games, and also to say keep an eye out for our next big Sniper Elite announcement!"

Ian Howe, president, 505 Games North America, commented that: "There has been tremendous support for Sniper Elite V2 since we first announced our relationship with Rebellion and it's really exciting to see that carry on through to release and beyond. As a thank you for that support, we're very pleased to now be able to offer a full multi-player feature set, free of charge, to all of our fans on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3."

The multi-player DLC will be available later this year and will bring players the opportunity to take on all sniping challengers in "Team Deathmatch", "Deathmatch", "Team Distance King" and "Distance King" modes.

I have enjoyed playing Sniper Elite V2, it is definitley something new. Game play was fantastic, every part of this game was fun and addictive.

Fantastic game, its a shame that Ive loaned it to my nephew now that Ive heard about this. Ill just have to wait til I get it back now :)
