Apple is set to unveil the brand new iPhone at 6pm today and you can join Joe and Colin with ShopTo News's first live blog and coverage of the event.

6:02pm - And here we go! Tim Cook has taken to the stage. "It's an amazing time at Apple."
6:04pm - Apple had 83 million visitors to their 380 stores around the world last year.
6:05pm - "We've had a very busy summer for the Mac. We launched Mountain Lion. The reviews have been fantastic."
6:06pm - 7 million people have upgraded to Mountain Lion. "We' launched the new Macbook Pro and together with MacBook Air, our notebooks rank #1 in the US in marketshare for the last 3 months."
6:07pm - 17 million iPads sold between April to June. "This brings us to a total of 84m units. Shocking when you think this is a category that didn't exist two and half years ago."
6:09pm - iPad is 91% of all tablet web traffic! Tim says "I don't know what these other tablets are doing! They must be in warehouses or store shelves or maybe in peoples' bottom drawer."
6:11pm - "We've crossed 700k apps in the store"
6:13pm "250k have been tailored for the iPad. 90% of the apps in that 700k are downloaded every month. The average customer uses over 100 apps."
6:13pm - "Together with incredible products, it's helped us hit a milestone. We sold over 400m iOS devices. This is amazing!"
6:13pm - Phil Schiller is on stage to talk about the iPhone.
6:14pm - "Today we're introducing iPhone 5."
6:15pm - "It's made entirely of glass and aluminium. This was the biggest challenge our team has ever taken on, and it's simply amazing."
6:16pm - 18% thinner than iPhone 4S and 20% lighter at 112 grams. Retina display, 326 PPI. 1136 x 640 and 16:9 aspect ratio. 4 inch screen.
6:18pm - "Why did we make it that size? It's because of your hand. It should fit there. That's how we designed the iPhone 5."
6:19pm - "And all our software has been updated, You see more of your email in mail. Your calendar shows more events."
6:21pm - The new screen has 44% more colour saturation and for the first time can show widescreen videos as they were mean to be seen.
6:22pm - "This is the most accurate display in the industry. The touch sensors are integrated right into the display itself. We removed a layer and made it sharper. This is the world's most advanced display, and I couldn't be prouder of it."
6:23pm - "We've added HSPA+, DC-HSDPA, and yes... LTE. (That's 4G to you and me UK folk)"
6:24pm - New Wi-Fi, 2.4ghz and 5ghz on 802.11n.
6:25pm - "Everything has been enhanced. So what's next? The Apple A6 chip."
6:25pm - "Compared to the A5, it's two times faster. 22% smaller"
6:26pm - Rob Murray from EA Games. Gaming time people! EA are showing off Real Racing 3. We'll get a video up when we can!
6:29pm - Battery Life now. "So, you can imagine the challenge on the battery life. But we've not only matched it... we've exceeded that of the iPhone 4S." 8 hours of 3G browsing. 8 Hours of 3G talking. 42 hours of music and 10 hours of video.
6:31pm - Camera time! "We asked our team to try and design something better than the iPhone 4S... and they've done that. 8mp, backside illuminated, hybrid IR filter..." 25% smaller and "But they didn't stop there. They enhanced it even further. Dynamic low light mode, precision lens alignment, sapphire crystal."
6:33pm - Apple are showing some untouched pictures with the new iPhone's camera. It's also 40% quicker with photo capturing. "But perhaps the most amazing new feature in the iPhone 5 is called panorama."
6:34pm - "It creates seamless transitions between these photos." Now this does look impressive. Pictures coming soon.
6:35pm - New Facetime camera is HD. 1080p video, improved video stability, face detection ? you can take photos while shooting video.
6:36pm - And finally Facetime over your mobile network!
6:37pm - "Everything has been updated in iPhone 5, and that goes for the audio system as well." Three microphones, bottom, front, and back.
6:39pm - THREE MICROPHONES. The end is nigh.
6:39pm - New dock connector time. It's called Lightning. Think Final Fantasy XIII... "So a lot has changed, and it's time for the connector to evolve. Our new connector is called Lightning. So we have Thunderbolt and Lightning."
6:40pm - Sorely tempted to burst out into a famous Queen song.
6:41pm - YOU CAN PLUG IT IN EITHER WAY. 80% small than before. Apple are working on an adaptor for all your 30 pin accessories.
6:42pm - iOS 6 time with Scott Forstall.
6:43pm - Demo of the turn by turn GPS stuff at the moment. Thrilling stuff. New 3D maps as well which does look rather nice. galileo galileo figaro.
6:45pm - Safari in iOS 6 now features a full screen mode. "I can get back to any of my content from any of my browsers on the go, it's called iCloud tabs." In a similar fashion to Chrome between the desktop and Android.
6:47pm - And now Passbook which I'm not sure will work in the UK at iOS 6 launch. Photo Stream now.
6:50pm - "Now I'd like to show you photo stream sharing. I can just select photos and then say share..." You can pick individual people you want to share with. "They've received a push notification with those photos on their phones. You can comment on photos, your friends can, and you can like that photo."
6:50pm - New Siri features. "Siri has also learned a lot more about movies, so I can ask 'can you recommend a good movie in theatres?" And you can use Siri to post it to Facebook.
6:51pm - "And those are just a few of the new features in iOS 6. There's some great enhancements to the phone app, including the ability to automatically send an SMS back when you can't take a call."
6:52pm - Phil is back on stage "iOS 6 is the most advanced OS for any phone. And it powers the iPhone 5."

7:02pm - Preorders are live September 14th and the iPhone 5 will ship in the UK September 21st.
