Bioware founders Ray Muzyka & Greg Zeschuk announce retirement

Bioware have announced today that two of the Canadian company's co founders have retired from the company with immediate effect.

A statement was posted on the Bioware Blog:

Today, BioWare co-founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk have announced they are retiring from BioWare. Please join us in wishing them all the best in the future.

The duo originally co-founded BioWare back in 1995, although the company was later sold to EA is 2007.

Both Ray and Greg have issued statements regarding their resignation, with Greg in particular having eyes on drinking beers in an internet related web show where he'll interview brewers.

Ray Muzyka's statement meanwhile, states that there are 'exciting products' in 'early development' in the Mass Effect and Dragon Age games.

man, thats a damn shame. these guys have been behind some of the best games out there.

Very sad news indeed. One that fills me with fear. The EAifnication of Bioware will only increase with these guys out the door. Im guessing EA might have helped them with a big fat golden handshake or something similar. Fingers crossed I am horribly wrong.
