Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD announced for PS3

Square has revealed that it'll release a new Kingdom Hearts HD remix for PlayStation 3.

The pack will include a spruced up version of Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. Features of the game include HD graphics and trophy support.

In addition, Square will also release cutscenes from Kingdom Hearts in a new HD theater mode.

Kingdom Hearts HD remix will be released in Japan next year. No word on a western release at this time.

“ I'm excited for this but I had hoped 358/2 days was playable and had multiplayer and such. It should still be worth it though Kingdom Hearts games are quiet lengthy. ”

Kingdom Hearts has and always will be my all time favorite and my only wish after this is that they make a full featured CGI series of the storyline. ”

“ Understandable the DS games won't be playable, as they would look ugly as sin upscaled to a HD screen. They didn't even look that great on a DS screen tbh. Anyway, it's good to hear that it's the final mix version of KH1 on the disc, and I'd presume a second volume containing KH2 Final Mix and Birth By Sleep FM updates won't be far behind. ”

“ Really do hope this gets a Western release, as the Re:Chain of Memories on Kingdom Hearts 2 - Final Mix was such a point of jealousy for Kingdom Heart fans outside of Japan or the US. Apparently, this version will also contain some of the other games such as 358/2, at least according to Joystiq and Kotaku. For now I'll be continuing Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance and eagerly awaiting more information! =D ”
