Medal of Honor to span two discs on Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 version of Medal of Honor: Warfighter will span two discs, according to a new report.

Speaking in an interview with Videogamer, senior designer Ben Jones suggested that the two discs would be used to separate the game's single-player and the multiplayer modes.

"I think that might be a reality for us as well," said, "It's DVD format versus Blu-ray and you're going to see that split at certain times, especially with the amount of content that we're delivering."

In addition to the above, the game will also include an optional HD texture installation, giving those who install it a better overall experience.

"I believe we are [including an optional HD texture installation], but I don't know that we can confirm that," Jones said.

Medal of Honor is using the same engine (Frostbite 2) as Battlefield 3, so perhaps it will come as little surprise that the game will span two discs. In any case both modes will be separated, so it shouldn't be too much of a hassle. Better that than splitting the campaign.

No surprise at all. Must say, the 360 drive is seeming very old and last gen now.

Is the team behind MoH really utilizing the Frostbite 2 engine and not just saying they are like DICE? It sure as hell wasn't in BF3

It's probably gonna play like BF3 in terms of the engine

Microsoft keep saying they don't need blu-ray... They clearly do. It's not a big deal swapping discs, but there shouldn't really be a need to do so with the current tech and especially this gen.

I'm not too fussed. Besides, swapping discs brings all that Final Fantasy nostalgia back. Yeah, I'm funny like that

Fingers crossed this game delivers the goods this time round. Its sad to see my beloved PS1 franchise getting less than stellar sequels

I'm betting it'll be another let down, MoH hasn't been good on consoles since Frontline, I loved that game.

I wonder which way there focusing this game. I remember Battlefield 3 disc 1 was the multiplayer and disc 2 the campaign wonder if they think MOH is more about multiplayer or campaign

I'd always though MOH was more campaign than multiplayer. I dont remember the name but I played an old multiplayer pc MOH that was really fun though. One of the games that introduced me into online FPS's
