Angry Birds: Star Wars coming this November

Angry Birds are set to team up with Star Wars, releasing for iOS and Android computers this month.

What this means is that instead of seeing birds flying around your screen, characters such as Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Chewbacca will make an appearance. Of course the dark side will also grace the screen.

Luke's homeworld of Tatooine and the Ice Planet Hoth will also be represented, with gameplay coming from the latest release from Rovio - Angry Birds Space.

"They are not Angry Birds dressed up as Star Wars characters," Lucasfilm's president of licensing and consumer products marketing Paul Southern told the USA Today, "They are characters in their own right."

So what do you think? Is the force with this one?

i really love the angry birds games but i feel they are sort of dragging this out with all the releases with just different graphical changes they are essentially the same games but look slightly different.

I've never been tempted by Angry Birds before, not to pay for it anyway, if this becomes available on something I own though I may be tempted by this, I love Star Wars.

I think that they had something really good with Bad Piggies. As much as i've enjoyed Angry Birds - I had so much more fun making my own vehicles. I hope they make a second one after the Star Wars one.

The first Angry Birds was great, they just seem to get a bit repetitive though.

Played the first one for a bit but it just got boring. Not bothered about this.

As it looks like this mental mashup is based on Angry Birds Space I have no qualms with it. I really enjoyed that game for the extra gravity-based puzzles it flaunted so well. I just hope that players will be able to use the force.

I never understood the fuss about angry birds but it does seem that they are milking it quite a bit now.

I only had a passing interest in Angry Birds, but a Star Wars crossover could be interesting.

When I read the title to this article My hand literally collided with my face. As has been previously stated, this is clearly just milking the franchise. I played the game quite a bit as I got it for free on my android, but the game is kinda boring after half an hour and I really don't see why it got so popular. It actually bugs me as a very similar game called "crush the castle" was release prior to angry birds. Admittedly it doesn't have as much charm but it just feels like Angry Birds just stole the idea. Not Impressed. They should make new games instead of ruining old ones (like activision did with guitar hero)

even if it's free they will still make money from Merchandise and/or DLC. So it's still milking it.

When I read about this, I have to say my first reaction was "pfft like trying to put lipstick on a pig". BUT I am really excited about this version of the game. maybe add something new to the dying series?

i do feel they could be milking it but i also fee they have a right to expand there franchise and make more games, just because its practically the same game doesnt mean it shouldnt be made

Hell if I could come up with something and milk it for thousands I'd see no reason not to. If people enjoy it and you make a good profit, why not?

It just seems so... lazy. They should spend time making new games. If they want to expand on Angry Birds it should be in the way of DLCs.
