Xbox 360 now stands at 70 million units sold

Microsoft has sold 70 million Xbox 360s since its November 2005 launch.

The hardware giant announced that it sold 1.7 million consoles during the period July to September 2012, which helped it hit this target.

In comparison, Sony had sold 63.9 million PlayStation 3s as of the end of March 2012 and Nintendo had sold 96.56 million Wiis as of the end of June 2012. Obviously the PS3 should stand at around 65 million now, while the Wii us probably closer to 97 million.

Microsoft has stressed Xbox 360 is the top selling console in the US with an impressive 49 per cent market share, although it continues to struggle in Japan, while the PS3 remains the top seller in Europe.

The Wii may have sold more as it was aimed at the family in general just look at the titles that have been released. The xbox and ps3 are both aimed at the more mature gamer.
WoW some amount that !!
